Search & Discovery: EIUG exchange of experience

Warwick University Library, Wednesday 22nd September 2010

The next EIUG event will be an exchange of experience to be held at Warwick University Library on Wednesday 22nd September. The theme of the day is 'search & discovery interfaces'. Who is using the new style search interfaces (Encore, Aquabrowser etc) - how are these being developed, how well are they being received? What about searching for articles - standard federated search or the new integrated articles search?

We have presenters lined up to talk about their experiences with Aquabrowser, Encore Synergy & Summon but of course the discussion will move in whatever direction suits delegates!

The event is scheduled to run from 1000 - 1530. It's open to EIUG members only and is free of charge. A sandwich lunch bag will be provided (choice of meat, fish or vegetarian sandwiches).

Proposed running order:

1000-1030: Arrival with tea/coffee & chat

1030-1115: Aquabrowser at Aston - presentation from Emma Hurcombe with questions & discussion

1115-1230: Summon and Ebsco Discovery Service at Liverpool - presentation from Roy McCready with questions & discussion

1230-1330: Lunch

1330-1415: Encore Synergy at Wellcome - presentation from Natalie Pollecutt with questions & discussion
